Q: assure/ensure 中文同樣都是”確保”，但用法哪裡不同呢?

A: 

簡單來說: assure 後接人，ensure後配事，insure 加上錢。

基本上，assure 與 ensure 都有 make sure (確保)的意思。

不同之處在於 assure後面接”人”, ensure後面接”事物”

assure: to tell someone something is okay

ensure: to make something certain to (not to) happen

ensure後面接”事物”或是”子句”

再補充一點，ensure和insure的發音是一樣的，所以在聽力上有些人會被搞混。

insure: to protect financially / to cover with an insurance policy. (為…)投保

The necklace is insured for 1 million euros.

這條項鍊投保了一百萬歐元。
