看到access / permit 很多學生第一個直覺是允許, 讓我們來看看他們的用法

從英文的文意下手就很好理解。

看一下Cambridge Dictionary字典的解釋

access  不可數名詞 / 動詞

getting near / the method  of getting near to a place or person  通道/ 使用某物的方法

access的重點是進入, 也可以引申為進入的權利

(eg)

There is full wheelchair access to the hospital.

You need a valid passport to access the database.

permit  名詞 / 動詞 [ allow + doing something / allow somebody to do something ]

to allow something  允許

(eg) We are not permitted to park our cars in front of the mall. 

Access 強調的是進入的權利

Permit 強調的是這件事情被不被允許

補充：

permit 可數名詞,翻譯為許可證 (這是一張證件)

permission 不可數名詞,當抽象的概念允許

(eg)

The temporary worker has to apply for a work permit before he can work.

The temporary worker has to apply for a work permission before he can work. 

第二句work permission前有a ＝ 要加上一個具體的東西, 於是必須用permit不是permission
